1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the LA'CEDRA website (lacedra.lk) or engaging our software engineering services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any portion of these terms, please refrain from using our digital services.
2. Engineering Services & Deliverables
LA'CEDRA provides bespoke software development, web engineering, quality assurance, test automation, and technology advisory services. All technical deliverables, project milestones, acceptance criteria, and financial payment terms are formally codified in dedicated Statement of Work (SOW) or Service Agreement contracts executed between LA'CEDRA and the client.
3. Intellectual Property Rights (IP)
Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in a customized contract:
- Client Deliverables: Upon receipt of full payment, 100% of custom code, database structures, documentation, and digital assets developed exclusively for the client are assigned in full to the client.
- Pre-existing Frameworks: General-purpose open-source libraries, tooling harnesses, or proprietary boilerplates developed independently by LA'CEDRA remain subject to their respective open-source or proprietary licenses.
4. Internship & Academic Placements
Undergraduate software engineering internships hosted by LA'CEDRA are governed by tripartite educational agreements between the student, their respective academic institution (e.g., IIT), and LA'CEDRA. Interns receive direct technical supervision and assigned mentorship on authentic production codebases.
5. Limitation of Liability & Warranty
Software is provided according to documented engineering specifications and passes rigorous QA verification before deployment. However, to the maximum extent permitted under Sri Lankan law, LA'CEDRA shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from third-party hosting outages, external API modifications, or unauthorized system alterations performed by third parties.
6. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
